Station #4-Leftovers/Catch Up/Cold War Placemat
Directions: You will be creating a placemat that tells people about either the Cold War OR the Fall of the Soviet Union. You will use your Cold War Alpha boxes and your Journey Across Time textbook pg. 881-883 to complete the placemat.
Here is what you need to include on your placemat:
1. A title choose either The Cold War or The Fall of the Soviet Union
2. Facts 10 facts ( words and phrases) on your placemat around the edge.
3. Pictures: At least 5 illustrations to go with facts
4. Neatness and color
* If you finish early, choose an option below:
-work on any station you didn't finish
-study for your test
-make a quizlet/Kahoot for your test
Station #5 Play Kaboom Review Game
Directions:
Ø Take turns selecting a Kaboom strip from a canister.
Ø You will answer the question or define the vocabulary term.
o If they get it correct, they keep their strip. If they are incorrect, they return their strip to the canister.
Ø If students selects strip with “KABOOM”, they must place all their strips back into the canister.
Ø Continue taking turns and answering questions.
Ø Student with the most strips at the end of time, is the winner.
*It would be a good idea to write down any Kaboom questions you are struggling with so you can study those concepts at home.

You are creating your own propaganda poster today. Make sure to use some of the techniques you learned today:
•Basic Message
•Visual Image
•Catchy Words
•Slogans
Directions:
Choose one option below, to create a propaganda poster about the Russian Revolution or the German response to the Treaty of Versailles. Remember what the goal of propaganda is; to persuade your audience to agree with your opinion. For a poster, you are using images and only a few words to persuade your audience. Then using the space provided, write a short paragraph explaining your poster.

Choose one option below, to create a propaganda poster about the Russian Revolution or the German response to the Treaty of Versailles. Remember what the goal of propaganda is; to persuade your audience to agree with your opinion. For a poster, you are using images and only a few words to persuade your audience. Option A: Pretend you are a Russian peasant or communist living during the time of the reign of Czar Nicolas II. You agree with the reasons why the Russian people should revolt (hint- you must know the reasons why the Russians wanted to revolt against their government- Check your handouts and notes if you can’t remember). Create a poster convincing your fellow Russians to join your cause. Make sure they understand your reasons for revolting based on the images you choose to draw.

Option B: Pretend you are a member of the Russian Royal Family (The Romanovs), and you believe that the monarchy (a government with kings and queens) should remain (hint- you must remember the movie we watched on the Russian Revolution and what role the Romanovs played - Check your handouts and notes if you can’t remember). Create a poster convincing your fellow Russians to join your cause. Make sure they understand your reasons for keeping the Czar and monarchy based on the images you choose to draw.

Option C: Pretend you are a German citizen and it’s just been announced that Germany must sign the Treaty of Versailles. You feel very strongly that the treaty is too harsh on Germany. Create a poster convincing your fellow Germans to reject the treaty (hint- you must remember what the Treaty of Versailles is and how it affected Germany- Check your handouts and notes if you can’t remember). Make sure they understand your reasons for not signing the Treaty, based on the images you choose to draw.
